The Roll Puller™ is a patented tool built by GAC that lets one operator extract heavy geosynthetic rolls from vans, containers, or flatbed trucks without tearing the cardboard cores or risking back and shoulder injuries. It inserts horizontally into the cardboard core, grips with laser-cut armor-plate teeth, and pulls the roll out with a chain rigging.
Two models. The RP3XL fits cardboard cores with an inside diameter of 2.75 to 3.25 inches. The RP4XL fits 3.75 to 4.50 inch cores. Both models share the same patented tooth profile, forged shaft, and safety features — pick by your roll's core size.
Measure the inside diameter of the cardboard core (the empty tube in the center of the roll). Between 2.75 and 3.25 inches → RP3XL. Between 3.75 and 4.50 inches → RP4XL. Most standard paving-fabric and geotextile rolls use the smaller RP3XL size. Larger geosynthetic products, hybrid mats, and some overseas suppliers use RP4XL cores.
Call GAC and ask about custom sleeves. Standard RP3XL and RP4XL fit the vast majority of paving-fabric and geotextile rolls, but we can advise on sleeves or custom pullers for unusual core diameters.
Yes. The Roll Puller grips the cardboard core, not the fabric — so it works with any brand of geotextile, geogrid, paving fabric, or other geosynthetic that ships on a standard cardboard core within the model's ID range.
Each Roll Puller has a tested maximum pull limit of 1,000 pounds. For heavier loads or multi-roll banded groups, use multiple pullers together — a 2, 3, or 4 puller set with proper chain rigging distributes the load safely.
The Roll Pullers themselves do not break with proper use. Chains, cables, and ropes CAN break — that is why operators must never exceed the Working Load Limit (WLL) of the rigging, must stand to the side of the truck (never in line with or behind the pull), and must train every operator. OSHA regulations must be followed. Full instructions are included with every order.
Yes. That is the whole point. One operator with a Roll Puller and a forklift or excavator can unload an entire van or container of geosynthetic rolls in minutes. Manual unloading takes a crew and causes shoulder and back injuries — the Roll Puller replaces that.
2 puller set: two 6-foot chains.
3 puller set: one 4-foot center chain + two 6-foot outer chains.
4 puller set: two 4-foot chains + two 6-foot chains.
Chain, hooks, and O-rings sized for complete Roll Puller systems are available on request from GAC.
